Why does the galvanized cable tray turn yellow?

The main reason for the yellowing of hot-dip galvanized cable trays is due to chemical reactions during the hot-dip galvanizing process. Hot dip galvanizing is a commonly used anti-corrosion treatment method, in which zinc metal is dissolved in high-temperature molten salt, and then the metal product is immersed in the melted zinc liquid to cover its surface with a layer of zinc, thereby achieving the purpose of anti-corrosion. During the hot-dip galvanizing process, the surface of the hot-dip galvanizing bridge will undergo a chemical reaction with the melted zinc solution, producing a yellow compound. Although this layer of yellow compound is not pure zinc, it plays an important role in the anti-corrosion effect of metal products.

In addition, the color change of hot-dip galvanized cable trays may also be related to factors such as the concentration of zinc solution, treatment temperature, and time. In actual production, in order to control the quality of hot-dip galvanizing, it is usually necessary to precisely control these factors to ensure that the color and anti-corrosion effect of the final hot-dip galvanizing bridge meet the expected requirements. In short, the reason for the yellowing of hot-dip galvanized cable trays is due to the chemical reactions generated during the hot-dip galvanizing process and the control effects of related factors. This color change is a normal phenomenon and does not affect the normal use and anti-corrosion effect of hot-dip galvanized cable trays.
